Summer Event Newsletter

We hope that you all managed to review the article about the summer event in the Flintshire Evening Leader, it was great to see our children being  recognised for their efforts in this years event. We also wanted to thank all the companies who have support our health and wellbeing week. The children have been creating some fantastic thank you cards to distribute to show our appreciation .

The balloon race tickets continued to flood in and after our initial thoughts of swapping our world map for a Flintshire map, however we received 3 lucky winners - Denmark 1045 miles, France 725 miles and Southampton which reached 270 miles.

Thank you to all those who have sent in their sponsorship forms, we really are impressed with the amount of activities the children completed prior to the race.  Our total amount raised £2001.00.

We will endeavor to get some pictures of the event pinned up into the notice board. We have published a lot via our facebook page, but we understand a lot of parents don’t use facebook, so please do contact us if you would like any copies.

FODS always welcome’s any feedback good or bad, so we can learn for future activities. Please contact us via email on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Recycling of Children's Clothing & Uniforms

FODS has recently set up a system to recycle not only children's quality, used school uniforms but children's activity clothing. Our aim is to provide a system that will help raise funds for our school and at the same time save you money!

By donating items of activity clothing that you no longer use, we can provide a recycling opportunity for everyone. Also, it allows us to buy items at a bargain price.

If you would like to support this initiative, please donate your items to us so others can put them to good use. You can bring your items (good condition, only please) to the school office. The items will be on display and for sale at the Summer Fete as well as other times throughout the year.

Here is a list of items that we can accept (or anything else you think might be useful):

  • School Uniforms
  • Halloween or other fancy dress costumes
  • Ballet, Modern, tap, Irish costumes
  • Brownie, Beavers, Rainbow uniforms
  • Stagecoach
  • Tennis rackets
  • Horse riding outfits
  • Tae Kwon Do
  • Rugby shirts
  • Swimming goggles
  • Shoes (for above activities) only if in good condition
