Year 6 / Blwyddyn 6 2023 - 2024
Croeso i Flwyddyn 6.
Mrs King welcomes you to the Blwyddyn 6 class page. Here you will find useful information about Blwyddyn 6. Our teaching assistant in Blwyddyn 6 is Mrs Reynolds. Should you wish to discuss any aspect of your child's development, please do not hesitate to email me.
This year Wales is following a new curriculum which is formed of the foundation phase, national curriculum, the literacy and numeracy framework.
There are six areas of learning: Expressive Arts, Health and Wellbeing, Humanities, Languages Literacy, Mathematics and Numeracy, Science and Technology.
At the start of each topic the children will be given the opportunity to discuss what they would like to learn and planning will include these ideas. There will also be an increased focus on outdoor learning.
Autumn Term topics:
This is me - this topic will have a health and wellbeing focus.
Residential visit to PGL Boreatton Park - Monday 16th - Wednesday 18th October
Homework grids are set every half term and are available on Google Classroom. Pupils should aim to submit one piece of homework per week online using Google Classrooms unless otherwise stated, for example when we set project tasks which may take longer. Online feedback will be provided and we will also use the projector screens in class to celebrate other pupils homework achievements and share what has been completed when we are in class.
In Blwyddyn 6 our P.E. days are Wednesday and Friday. Pupils can continue to come into school wearing the school PE kit on the days we have P.E.
