Our Curriculum 

In Year 2, your child will to learn through the Curriculum for Wales. The six areas of learning are:

• Language, Literacy and Communication
• Mathematics and Numeracy
• Health and Well-Being
• Expressive Arts
• Humanities
• Science and Technology

The children develop these areas of learning through directed activities in class, as well as completing more independent activities in our provision areas, both indoors and outdoors. In the new curriculum the children are taking more responsibility for their own learning through sharing their ideas and contributing to the planning of activities. 

Spring Term 2026

• Seesaw: any weekly updates will be uploaded to the class stream. 
• Topic: 'Brr...It's Cold!'

Homework

Homework tasks are set every half term and are available on Seesaw. Pupils should aim to submit one piece of homework per week online using Seesaw. Verbal feedback will be provided when we share what has been completed  in class on the whiteboard.

P.E. Days

In Year 2 our P.E. days are usually Monday and Friday. Pupils can continue to come into school wearing their school PE kit on the days we have P.E.
