Welcome to the Year 1 Class page. Here, you will find useful infromation about our class.
Mrs Last teaches Monday- Wednesday and Mrs Cartwright teaches Thursdays and Fridays.
In Year 1, your child will to learn through the Curriculum for Wales. The six areas of learning are:
- Language, Literacy and Communication
- Mathematics and Numeracy
- Health and Well-Being
- Expressive Arts
- Humanities
- Science and Technology
The children develop these areas of learning through directed activities in class, as well as completing more independent activities in our provision areas, both indoors and outdoors. In the new curriculum the children are taking more responsibility for their own learning through sharing their ideas and contributing to the planning of activities.
P.E. Days
In Year 1 our P.E. days are Mondays and Fridays. Pupils can come into school wearing their school PE kit on these days.
Spring Term 2026
- Seesaw: any weekly updates will be uploaded to the class stream.
- Topic: 'Brr...It's Cold!'
