Nursery 2018 - 2019

Mrs Last

Hello and welcome to Nursery!

Our topic this term is ‘Celebrations’. We are looking forward to finding out all about different celebrations including Bonfire night, Diwali and Christmas.

We have been learning about shape and pattern so far in maths alongside counting and sequencing. This term we will be looking at money! We are encouraging the children to become familiar with the 1,2,5 and 10 pence coins. In addition to our directed activities, the children have the added opportunities to use money to pay for items in our ‘party shop’ which is our role play area theme this term.

In Literacy this term we will be sharing the book ‘The Jolly Christmas Postman’ and writing our very own Christmas wish lists to Santa. We are hoping to walk into the village and post them to Santa!

We are learning how to say ‘Who are you?’ ‘I am (name)’  ‘How are you?’ ‘I am (name)’. We are incorporating singing in Welsh and learning the days of the week.

We are very busy this term preparing for our Christmas play ‘Humph The Camel’ which will be held at school on December 11th at 9.30a.m.The children are very enthusiastic and confident singers which is lovely to see! They really enjoy singing and dancing together!

Please can you help us as we encourage the children to be more independent and put on their own coats and try and zip/button them up.
