Welcome to Reception class!

I am Ms Mathieson and I am the classteacher for Reception class.

Ms Mathieson, Mrs Critchley and Miss John welcome you to Reception's class page.

This year we are joined by our 1:1 support worker, Miss Swale.

Here you will find infomation about our current topics, activities that we have taken part in, and upcoming events.

In Reception class, your child will learn through the new Curriculum for Wales. The six areas of learning are:

Language, Literacy and Communication
Mathematics and Numeracy
Health and Well-being
Expressive Arts
Humanities
Science and Technology

The children zdevelop these areas of learning through directed activities in class, as well as completing more independent activities in our provision areas, both indoors and outdoors. In the new curriculum, the children are taking more responsibility for their own learning through sharing their ideas and contributing to the planning of activities.
